Welcome to Mommyhood

It's been a while since I've blogged. The truth is, blogging has really been the last thing on my mind since having the baby. Taking care of a newborn is serious business!

She's really a great baby and we feel so blessed to have her, but this girl eats around the clock. I'm talking every 2 hours, which makes for one incredibly tired mama. But then I look at her face and my exhaustion goes away and all I can do is smile.

At 5 weeks old, she loves:

- Eating.
- Pulling mommy's hair.
- Going up and down the stairs with daddy.
- Tummy time on daddy's chest.
- Being held in general.
- Walks outside.
- Car rides.

She hates:

- Being swaddled. She actually hated it starting at 2 days old. She somehow always finds a way to break free.
- Pacifiers.
- Evening hours. She seems to be the most fussy during this time.

Meanwhile, I managed to finally put on a pair of jeans for the first time since last June. Wahoo! You might think it's so random for me to be this excited about this, but all you moms out there know what I'm talking about. Besides the fact that I can finally fit into jeans again, but the mere act of me getting dressed is a victory in it of itself. Am I right!?

I know where you're coming from! I cannot WAIT to wear my jeans again. It's a great feeling. I've been thinking about you and your new little one. I'm due in a couple of weeks now and I can't wait! She is a real cutie. Only one of my kids like a pacifier. Consider it a blessing. The one that liked it tried to hang on to that thing forever!

Um, you look INCREDIBLE, and she's such a sweetie. Congrats again!

Firstly, you look ah-maz-ing!!

Secondly, my oldest hated swaddling as well, and then would cry when his arms were flailing around. It was a bit tiresome!

I still can't believe you're back in your jeans already. I've been wearing my maternity jeans (sad face) but I finally broke down and bought some regular jeans...3 sizes bigger than I was before (sadder face).

Benjamin has a lot of similar likes and dislikes as Hannah. He liked being swaddled as long as his arms were free. Which may technically not be being swaddled but whatever. He's not super attached to pacifiers either (thank goodness) but will sometimes take one when he's really tired.

Keep enjoying the time with your sweet girl. They're going to be walking & talking before we know it! :-)

I still am totally biased towards the name Hannah so let me firstly congratulate you on a fabulous name choice. ;)
Secondly, you look fabulous, your baby is adorable and while I have totally missed reading your blog, you obviously have much more important things to worry about

I can only imagine how tough it can be. One of my sister-in-laws had a very tough time during my niece's first few weeks. Now she's over a year old and she's mama's best friend.

Funny you mention the pacifiers, my mom mentioned that I hated them too as a baby. I don't even think there's a single baby picture of me with one.

She's so cute! And yay for already being able to wear jeans again... that's impressive! My girls used to like being swaddled, and even to this day they still sometimes like to be wrapped in a big blanket like a burrito. :D So glad you posted an update... I'm really happy for you!

She's a cutie!!! Look how small!!! You look wonderful. So cheerful and happy :). I love those pink shoes, by the way! And yes, it's the little clothing-victories that can make a day after having a baby. Enjoy that baby!

Yi-chia she is stunning at her 1-month shoot and so peaceful while sleeping. She is totally worth all the exhaustion. I know, trust me. At her age my Vivian hated those very same things. It's funny how similar babies are.

And you look great in your jeans. Your coral loafers are gorgeous and I love the dark plaid shirt. =)

Get some rest when you can. Motherhood is beautiful but oh-so tiresome.

I remember after I had my first, I thought I'd be able to get into regular jeans the same week. I pulled them up to my ankles and just started crying!! I probably couldn't even get them on after one month...but you, you look stunning!

My boys always broke free from swaddling!! It was the only thing that calmed my first son down. We swaddled him until he was a year old... crazy. My newest doesn't care for pacifiers either and that's a new one for me!
