Pink & Purple

I've always tried to stay away from wearing pink and purple at the same because it reminds me of myself when I was a little girl. But for some reason when I put the upper half of this outfit on, I instinctively pulled out my purple jeans.

{Gingham Shirt: J.Crew Factory (similar), Sweater: Old Navy (similar), Jeans: Forever 21 (old), Booties: BCBG (old), Bracelets: David Yurman, t+j Designs}

We made it to the end of March. I know most of you have been pretty miserable with the constant winter-like weather. Hopefully April will bring us some warm weather, blooming flowers, and lots of sunshine.

Time for this week's Friday Love-It Notes!

1. It's Easter weekend! I've successfully convinced my mother-in-law to do an Easter egg hunt for us. I told her that my little niece would love it. Yes, I totally used my niece to get my MIL to do something that I secretly really wanted. #sorryImnotsorry

2. Red Starburst Jelly Beans. You may remember my complete love for Starburst Jelly Beans, but I really dislike the orange and yellow flavors. Now they have packages of only red ones and it's like the Starburst people read my mind. Now I'm thinking about winning lottery... will it work!?

3. Not wearing socks. Since it's ever so slowly getting warmer, I've started to wear shoes with no socks. This is a huge step since I hate it when my feet are cold, but I also hate wearing socks. I know, it's a such conundrum. I've finally been able to shed the extra layer and my feet are thanking me.

For those of you who celebrate Easter, have a wonderful holiday. For everyone else, happy weekend!

Funny you mention that pink & purple reminds of when you were a little girl. I was a kiddie birthday party the other and some of the moms were complaining about how daddy dressed their little girls with stripes & polka dots and pink & purple. I nearly started laughing because I love these combos, so maybe I am secretly channeling my young self? Luckily that day, I was dressed in blue & brown and leopard. Like a grown up :)

To an objective observer, the outfit doesn't look little girlish at all. I'd call it a youthful adult look (a stylish youthful adult look).

My wife says socks make her feet too hot...I nag her (yes, nag) to wear them when she's sick during cold weather.

I didn't realize bags of just red Starburst jelly beans existed until you mentioned it. I've been on the lookout since, but haven't spotted them yet. I'll be checking another store tonight on the way home--I have a list of things to pick up, but I would stop just for the jelly beans. :)
