My hair is naturally thick, super frizzy, and semi wavy. I always wash and dry my hair the night before, mainly to save time in the mornings. I would probably go nuts if I had to do everything at once. And this is what my hair looks like in the morning.
I always start with heat protectant spray. With all the hot styling tools, this keeps my hair from getting too dry, fried, and broken.
Sometimes I run my hair through a hair dryer with a brush to smooth out the wildness a bit, depending on how I slept on it.
Then I use a flat iron to straighten out my hair. I've been using a relatively cheap one that I wanted to replace since its been dropped on the floor a few
Finally, I end with a finishing creme for some added smoothness and shine.
{TRESemme Thermal Creations Heat Protectant Spray, Misiko Hana Pro Best Flat Iron c/o, John Frieda Frizz-Ease Creme}
Voila, the end result! The one good thing about my thick hair is that it usually stays in place all day once I've styled it. How long does all of this take? Minus the time it takes to wash and dry, it takes about 20 minutes to do my hair every morning.
What about you, is your hair no-fuss or is it a process like mine?
Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

I get regular keratin treatments - if I didn't it would be a process! My hair is fine, but very, very dense and frizzy and wavy and it's just a mess!
OK you win your hair is harder to handle than I suspected. But its still gorgeous :) Depending on if I'm too lazy to blow dry or not, it usually takes me about 10 mins to do my hair...
xxxx
I get a treatment done every 6-8 weeks to smooth the cuticle and weekly deep treatments to keep frizz at bay.
Love this feature - your photography is so cute! Have a wonderful weekend xo
Your hair is always SO shiny and straight! I'm always jealous. Also, I love your wedding rings!! I don't think I've ever seen them up close. Gorgeous!
Your hair is beautiful!
I wish I had thick hair.. I know.. you probably think I'm nuts.. but I do.. but you always want what you don't have.. so I've been told.. I use the same heat protectant as you!!

PRETTY MUCH A PROCESS ESPECIALLY SINCE IT IS NATURALLY CURLY. DO YOU EVER LET YOUR WAVES OUT..I BET IT WOULD LOOK BEAUTIFUL!
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

My hair is a huge pain too. I might have to take a couple lessons too!
My hair takes me forever to do! During the work week I don't have time to straighten it, but on the weekends I'll wash it, blow dry it, and then use the flat iron on it. It's rather exhausting haha.

I love this post esp the first picture, priceless..
I used to fuss about my hair being wavy and not straight but as i get older i learn to accept and stop fighting it. my hair is thin. The day I washed my hair it looks like Diana Ross but after a day or two it calms down.

Your hair is amazing! My hair is extremely thick. It takes forever to dry and straighten.. if I don't straighten it's like a lion's mane... not that there's anything wrong with that, I just prefer straight hair :)

Oh my gosh...that first pic is just too cute, Maylee:) And may I say you do a great job with your hair. My hair is the worst and have no patience for it, which is why I shave most of it!
Happy Friday:)

My hair is a monster sometimes. When I style it, it does exactly as I want it to, but it's the styling that is the issue–it takes forever! On the days I go to the gym, I can't even begin to think about drying my hair because I'd be so late to work. Loved learning more about your routine, happy weekend Yi-chia!

If I could wash and dry my hair the night before, and only straighten it in the morning, I would be the happiest girl in the world!! I cannot wear my hair down if I've slept on it - ever. Your hair is beautiful! And I love that Treseme heat protector! Used it for years!
Hi dear, thanks for sharing your hair routine with us, your hair always looks impeccably styled, like you've stepped out of a salon.
They don't look that bad in the morning, you should see mine :D
i love hot irons. i have the izunami and am in love. but my hair has somehow gone downhill since a few years ago and it's been so hard to deal. i used to have really long hair and would do all sort of things to it, but when right after my wedding i chopped it off and it's just been so hard to grow out (doing it now.. very patiently). plus it's just so hard to find the right stylist! i had one in new york who i miss so much!
wow! i wish i had the energy to do this everyday lol...i have the same frizz thick problem but i just roll with it lol! love that straightner, i just got one too amazing!!
Gee, that's a lot of work. I admire you for doing that every morning. I might have terrible eyesight, uber sensitive skin, and allergies, but I feel like I won the genetic lottery with my hair. Although it's a little finer/ thinner than I'd like it is so easy. I literally wash, condition, and go. I never brush it, rarely use products, and I only use a dryer in the winter because of the cold.
I never would have guessed you had wavy hair! These are all great tips, thanks for sharing!

Love the finished product! Your hair always looks so neat and shiny! My hair can be a process too - usually taking 20 minutes - but since my hair's curly, if I'm feeling lazy, sometimes I can just let it go with barely any styling. Happy Friday!

I am still working on figuring out my hair routine. My hair is thick, curly, frizzy and everything you don't want it to be.
Your hair looks beautiful! I wish I could dry my hair in 20 mins, it takes me about 30 even with a good hairdryer! Have a great weekend!

Mine is a pain, too! I try to shower the night before so it's less time to spent in the morning as well. I actually use that same protectant spray AND the frizz styling cream!
My hair is usually no fuss, but after I permed my hair in high school (such a bad decision!), I have to definitely work on my hair every morning since my hair still waves at the ends and gets frizzy.
My hair sounds a lot like yours: thick and wavy. I only wash my hair once or twice a week to cut down on damage and time otherwise I'd be spending hours a week getting it to look nice!
Fizz and Frosting
That first picture is too funny/cute. My hair is normally straight as straight can be, but since I cut it all off, I have to straighten it in mornings. I takes showers at night too. But my process takes about 3 minutes...I'm going to try out that hair protector stuff, you just get it at target?
You have lovely hair to begin with, Yi-Chia. Hair as lovely as your face and smile. Cool pictures! :)

I'm right with ya! We have a very similar routine right down to washing the night before.
The end result is gorgeous, Yi-chia! I honestly wouldn't have known that you have any frizz or wave to your natural hair.
Happy Friday!!

I def. thought your hair was low maintenance, but it sound just like mine. I have really thick hair and now it's getting super long. I usually wash the night before too but I use the blow dryer instead.
Ha...I love the first picture. Amazing! I'm not sure I would ever post my morning hair - yours looks like you just stepped out a salon compared to mine! Thanks for sharing your routine - and for the flat iron suggestion. I am in need of a new one!
Happy weekend!

Great routine! I think I might test out the frizz ease product... I feel like there is a step missing in my routine and this might be it because my hair always poufs and gets frizzy by the end of the day! Thx for the tips!

Gah, I WISH my hair was no-fuss. I don't really fix it and it kind of always looks bad :( One of my goals for 2013 is to actually do my hair!
My hair is horrific! I also have a thick head of frizzies... that's only kind of wavy. It's the "kind of" that gives me so much trouble!

So neat to see how you style your lovely hair! Mine is thin and straight like a broomstick. I used to style it more, but ever since I had the girls it's pretty much wash and go. :P
My hair used to be wash and go, but now it's a bit frizzy and dry. I started using Keratase products which definitely help minimize frizz and add shine.

You're so cute!
I invested in a GHD flat iron with ceramic plates in 2007 and it's still working. Prior to that I used to tame my hair with a cheapy curling iron which gave me split ends. I also use the exact same heat protectant spray though. Last year I bought a hair dryer that my friend recommended and it has allowed me to dry my hair in around 5 minutes. I only run the flat iron through my hair so that takes around 2-3 minutes since I have thin hair.
P.S. I wish I had more hair! Every time some falls out I worry about balding.
omg I have disaster hair much worse than yours lol! my exception is that most of the time I leave it a little crazy lol! as you can probably tell by my photos lol

You hair is always gorgeous! Mine is a big pain in the butt too! I have really thick and naturally curly hair (I hate my natural curl). I only wash my hair once a week (gross, I know). But from the time I get in the shower to the time I've dried and straightened my hair it's about 2 hrs. I like my hair best after I've slept on it because it calms it down a bit. Then the rest of the week it's just curling it which doesn't take long. But that one day a week is a pain. lol. I love love love your beautiful hair!

It's ironic that an effortless look can take a lot of effort. I'm sure your hubby thinks you look lovely before and after.
My wife and I both have fine hair. She washes at night and uses a curling iron in the morning. I wake up in the morning looking like a deranged Roman--wild hair going in every direction. I wash my hair in the morning so it's presentable.
I think there's an old movie about one of the crazy Caesars (perhaps the one who fiddled) and his hair was just all over the place. That may be why I think I wake up looking like a crazy Roman. :)
Happy Friday!
My hair is such a huge pain in the butt, too. I'm always so envious of the girls who can just wake up and go (seriously - how can they do that?!)
I love using Tresemme heat protectant always before I use the flat-iron. I have gone thru bottles of it. haha...
Great review and post! :) Love the first pic of you!!

www.sheislovelyblog.com
Wow thanks for your honesty, mine is dead straight and hard to style so I always make sure I wash and dry the night before too so I don't have to add that on top of my routine LOL but lately I've just been letting it 'free' putting it in a high bun and letting it wave that way, it does stay in place if I add a ton of hair spray but none the less I think it still looks good!

Women who don't have crazy thick hair have NO idea what we deal with form day to day!! I loved your before photo, and like several other posters, I'm intrigued to see you with some waves!
You make your hair look so effortless! And it always looks stunning. Jealous! I like my curls, and am awful at straightening my hair, so just put product in and go when I get out of the shower. I really need to learn how to blow it out though! Have a great weekend!

My hair is a pain in the @$$ too, but unlike yours mine is very fine, but super dry and frizzy! I use TIGI heat protectant and FHI flat iron and finish it off with some Argan Oil! I've started using Frizz- Ease conditioner too and it really seems to work. but for the shampoo I've tried almost everything under the sun but nothing seems to work for me. Now I'm thinking of switching to Kerastase Satin Bain. Hoping it'll work!

Seriously, that first image of you is too cute. You look like you are around 12 years old, not even kidding. My hair is pretty low maintenance to be honest. But that's probably because also choose to do nothing with it! :) I just dry it and put it in a bun for a few minutes to create some natural waves. OR, I don't dry it at all (when it's warmer!!)

That first photo is so adorable. I let my hair air dry for a while before using a 1980's style round brush hair dryer on the ends.

Now watch me comment on every single post of yours since I've been gone :) Sooo not a creeper....
Love you did this kind of post. My hair is no fuss and I can say I'm not that kind of high maintenance regarding hair matters. Hair relax and hair rebonding is very "in" here in the Philippines. But I don't have the patience to sit in the salon for hours by doing so. My hair is thick as yours and I only have a weekly treatment or diy hotoil and trim every 2-3 months or sometimes just dab with an oil to tame it more.:)
