Something About Hair Care

I have received a few comments and questions about my hair routine. Most of you mentioned that my hair seems to be low maintenance and no fuss.  Well I am here to keep it real with you. My hair is actually a huge pain in my behind.  Don't believe me? Just read my daily hair routine.

My hair is naturally thick, super frizzy, and semi wavy.  I always wash and dry my hair the night before, mainly to save time in the mornings. I would probably go nuts if I had to do everything at once. And this is what my hair looks like in the morning. 

I always start with heat protectant spray. With all the hot styling tools, this keeps my hair from getting too dry, fried, and broken.

Sometimes I run my hair through a hair dryer with a brush to smooth out the wildness a bit, depending on how I slept on it. 

Then I use a flat iron to straighten out my hair. I've been using a relatively cheap one that I wanted to replace since its been dropped on the floor a few dozen times. Needless to say, I was so excited when the folks over at Misikko* sent me this super nice Hana Salon Pro flat iron to try out. The flat iron came beautifully packaged and included a pouch for the iron, a new hair brush, a heat pad to protect your surfaces, and a few makeup samples. It's little things like this that makes me really like and remember a brand. The flat iron not only did its job, but it made my hair really smooth and soft and it tamed a lot of the frizziness.

Finally, I end with a finishing creme for some added smoothness and shine.

Voila, the end result! The one good thing about my thick hair is that it usually stays in place all day once I've styled it. How long does all of this take? Minus the time it takes to wash and dry, it takes about 20 minutes to do my hair every morning.
